The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on 26 July 2018 constituted a monitoring committee to oversee the Yamuna rejuvenation project. The committee has been directed to submit the first action plan by September 2018. A Bench headed by NGT chairperson Mr Adarsh Kumar Goel directed the committee, comprising former Delhi Chief Secretary Ms Shailaja Chandra and retired NGT expert member Mr Bikram Singh Sajwan, to submit a report by December 2018. The green panel also directed the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh governments to assist the committee on the project.
