The Delhi government has informed the Supreme Court that it is ready to roll out an action plan to rejuvenate 201 waterbodies in the water-starved Capital. The government, in an affidavit, said a survey has identified 1011 waterbodies in Delhi. The government said its objective is to clean waterbodies, restore their ecological value and put in a management regime that is sustainable in the long term. It will then finally hand over the rejuvenated waterbody to the land-owning agency concerned.
