The initiative was planned to ensure that Bangalore does not face a repeat of last year’s garbage mess. While the BBMP had made segregation at source mandatory in an attempt to solve the menace, it has not been enforced. Now, in order to enforce it, the Palike will conduct classes at zonal level for the city MLAs and councillors along with BBMP Health inspectors and engineers. In this initiative EMPRI (Environmental Management Policy Research Institute) will assist them.
