Gujarat government plans to come out with a new agri-business policy. Gujarat's Chief minister Mr Narendra Modi announced the formation of a state agriculture commission a few days ago. The commission will focus on drafting the new agri-business policy with a holistic approach. The government has decided to link agriculture, animal husbandry, poultry, fisheries and agro-processing together. Since irrigation is the most important component in agricultural development, the new policy will focus on linking of irrigation facilities with various other schemes.
