Title: Bajaj Auto to set up Rs 300 crore electric vehicle plant

In another big push towards electric vehicles in the two-wheeler space in India, Bajaj Auto has announced an investment of Rs 300 crore to set up a new plant for manufacturing EVs. This is the same site used for manufacturing the original Chetak scooter. The new plant is being set up in Akurdi, Pune and will have a production capacity of 500,000 vehicles per year. When fully operational, the facility is expected to employ 800 personnel and will be spread over an area of 500,000 sq feet.
