Over 2022-24 we expect annual demand growth to remain above pre-pandemic levels at around 6.5 per cent per year, Says IEA. Power demand in the country is expected to grow at an annual rate of 6.5 per cent between 2022 and 2024 backed by rising consumption from residential and industrial segments, the International Energy Agency (IEA) has projected. The projection comes as India clocked the highest 10 per cent Y-o-Y growth in power demand during the 2021 calendar year (CY), sharing stage with China.
