Title: Energy agency to conduct feasibility study for solar power plants on govt land

In order to meet the 150 megawatt solar power target in the next 24 months, Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) is scouting for a consultant who can help the government set up concentrated solar power plants across the state. With Goans giving the rooftop solar plants a hard pass, the government needs to aggressively deploy utility-scale solar power plants on government land or on government buildings. A utility-scale or concentrated solar power plant generates more than 1 megawatt of power, whereas rooftop solar plants are usually smaller, generating around 1-40 kilowatts of power depending on the roof size.
