The IISD and the WCS team are working in close collaboration with the Community Baboon Sanctuary Women's Conservation Group (CBSWCG) in the Belize River Valley to encourage the natural recovery of degraded ecosystems through reforestation. The Climate Adaptation and Protected Areas (CAPA) Initiative is developing this transformative, nature-based approach, with the objective of enhancing the resilience of communities and ecosystems to climate change and restoring and protecting vital ecosystems.
