Union environment minister Bhupender Yadav met with COP30 President Andre Correa do Lago in Delhi to discuss the Global Goal on Adaptation, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and Presidency plans. Yadav emphasized India's goal of becoming a developed country by 2047 and emphasized the need for climate actions to align with this. India is developing its first comprehensive National Adaptation Plan (NAP) to enhance resilience to climate change. The NAP aims to protect lives, ecosystems, and livelihoods by understanding climate risks and vulnerabilities. The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has invited heads of state and governments to an event on September 24 to announce their new NDCs.
