India's Ambassador to Brazil, Shri Dinesh Bhatia, delivered the National Statement at the CoP30 Leaders’ Summit on 07.11.2025, reaffirming India's long-standing commitment to climate action based on the principles of Common but Differentiated Responsibilities and Respective Capabilities (CBDR-RC). During the summit in Belém, Brazil, India acknowledged Brazil’s hosting of the conference, marking the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement and the legacy of the Rio Summit. India supported the establishment of Brazil's Tropical Forests Forever Facility (TFFF) and highlighted its achievements in reducing emission intensity by 36% from 2005 to 2020, with over 50% of its installed capacity now in non-fossil power. The country also emphasized its role as a major renewable energy producer and called for enhanced support from developed nations to meet climate targets, urging the importance of equitable finance, technology access, and capacity building for developing countries. India reiterated its dedication to multilateral efforts and stressed the need for actionable, resilient climate policies that reflect shared responsibility and trust.
