Oil minister Mr Dharmendra Pradhan said draft norms on fuel efficiency for heavy vehicles, aimed at reducing carbon emissions and making savings on hydrocarbon consumption, will be released on 1 April 2017.The move to address emissions from freight traffic is part of the country’s climate change strategy.According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, medium and heavy commercial vehicle production grew by 29.9% in FY2016 from a year ago.
