Title: DJB saves Rs. 87 crore on new treatment plant

The DJB (Delhi Jal Board) has managed to save Rs. 87 crore on a new sewage treatment plant that is coming up near Coronation Pillar in Mukundpur. As per a statement by the Delhi government on the plant will be Asia’s largest sewage treatment plant as well as the cheapest. The plant, which has the capacity to treat 70 million gallons of sewage per day, had a projected cost of Rs 602 crore, but the contract for the work was awarded for Rs 515 crore, leading to a saving of Rs 87 crore. The plant will also be cheaper compared to the DJB’s other sewage treatment facilities.
