The Meghalaya government is contemplating a hi-tech, environment-friendly approach to counter power deficiency in the state besides contributing to the environment through its Meghalaya Renewable Energy Policy, which is on the offing. The Chief Minister said the government would soon take steps to identify areas in the state that have potential in biomass for setting up of off-grid plants to supplement the inadequate power supply in the state.
