Title: Over 93% of rural households have toilet access: Survey

Over 93% households in rural India have access to toilets and of these households, 96.5% have used them, a government commissioned survey has found. It also found that 95.4% of the villages covered in the survey had minimal litter and stagnant water. The drinking water and sanitation ministry on Tuesday released the interim result of NARSS (National Annual Rural Sanitation Survey) 2018-19, which was conducted by an independent verification agency. The survey findings also show that 90.7% of the villages, which were declared as ODF by the local and state authorities, re-confirmed their status.
