IIT-Kanpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RITES Limited - the leading Transport Infrastructure Consultancy and Engineering under the Ministry of Railways. The MoU aims to strengthen and develop a sustainable future by working on decarbonization in various sectors and NetZero, complemented by climate change studies. The first few projects to be taken up under the MoU will include real-time monitoring of air pollution in major cities of UP, including Kanpur, and creating pathways for RITES and IIT-K to achieve NetZero. The MoU also includes R&D-related works on air quality sensors. MoU with IIT-Kanpur and RITES will pave the way for the future as we move towards carving a niche in the areas of sustainability for various sectors. This will give rise to action plans, roadmaps, and strategic innovation for enhancing Sustain4Future.
