Marking another milestone in the company's environmental initiatives, the BIAL (Bangalore International Airport Limited) announced on October 29 2013 that it has successfully upgraded its ACA (Airport Carbon Accreditation) certification to Level 3 'Optimization' of the programme. ACA Level 3 recognizes the achievement of carbon 'mapping' and 'reduction', extending the airport carbon footprint to include indirect Scope 3 emissions by engaging stakeholders through guidance and influence. BIAL has received an ACA Level 2 'Reduction' certificate in May 2012. The certificate was received by the airport, in recognition of a series of green initiatives, adopted by BIAL, over a period of time.
