This document takes stock of India’s efforts at addressing some of its own concerns. It documents the country’s evolving framework for sustainable development since the 1992 Earth Summit, assesses the achievements it has made and the existing and emerging challenges that the country faces. It highlights some of the international agreements that it has been part of and the innovative approaches adopted to tackle sustainability concerns, while also pointing to the unfinished agenda in this context.
