Title: Cabinet sub-committee to visit Western Ghats for study

Karnataka Chief Minister Mr Siddaramaiah said that the government would ensure that their livelihood is not affected. He said that the cabinet sub-committee formed to study the Western Ghats report would visit the Western Ghats region and submit its report to the government. The sub-committee was formed under Minister for Forests, Environment and Ecology Mr B Ramanath Rai to look into the Kasturirangan panel recommendations. Based on the sub-committee report, the government would send its opinion to the Union government. The delegation comprised Lok Sabha Members from Mysore and Udupi Mr A H Vishwanath and K Jayaprakash Hegde, respectively.
