In an election being fought on issues ranging from the local to the national, voters in Sundarbans in West Bengal are urging candidates to focus on the menace of global warming which is threatening to swallow up these islands, famous for being home to the Royal Bengal tiger. More than 40 lakh voters live on the group of 54 islands of the Sundarbans archipelago for whom climate change and its alarming impact form the main concern.
