Title: DDA releases seven sites for solid waste management facility

In the wake of acute shortage of landfill sites in the national Capital, the Delhi Development Authority on 21 May 2014 cleared seven sites for solid waste management facility. The housing-cum-land owing agency released seven sites in areas like Dwarka, Maidangarhi and Rohini. The sites were cleared by DDA Vice-Chairman Balvinder Kumar in its 7th Technical Committee Meeting held at the authority’s office. Out of these seven sites, five sites will be given to South Delhi Municipal Corporation, one to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and other two to North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC). The total area under these sites will be 1,07,300 square metres of land. The solid waste shall include construction, demolition and kitchen waste material etc.
