Title: Two retreating Ladakh glaciers alarm scientists

Durung-Drung and Pensilungpa, two glaciers in Ladakh, have retreated by 7.8sq km and 1.5sq km, respectively, from 1971 to 2019. Alarmed scientists hold climate change and several other factors responsible for melting glaciers that feed the Zanskar river through two tributaries. Scientists are also surprised that the glaciers are retreating at different paces despite being at an aerial distance of just 1km. The study mentioned that climate change was a vital force in the retreating of the glaciers.
