For the first time that an energy audit will be carried out in Chandigarh. The Bureau of Energy Audit will be carrying out the energy audit to assess actual technical and commercial losses in the city for the year 2020-21 and 2021-22. This energy audit will be carried out on the directions of Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC). Originally issued in tariff order dated July 16, 2011, the department was directed to get an energy audit conducted through an accredited agency to assess actual technical and commercial losses.
